The most moving part of this story Dan is the memory of your brother this simple act of kindness evoked. Thank you for bringing his spirit to life for your readers.
I was at my neighborhood Panera for lunch today and as I was walking with my food to the patio, I saw an alcove filled with about 2o high school girls wearing bright neon clown type wigs. As the story went, they were a softball team that had qualified for the playoffs and the wigs were gifts from their parents.
In my whole life I never expected to see anything so hilarious and I told them so!
They reminded me that life goes on and not even Trump can rip the joy of life from us.
We will endure ... Because of neon wigs, birds, and the joy of your writing Dan!
All distractions are welcome in this atmosphere...Nature is such a soothing force. I find the blooming trees, daffodils and other flora (and fauna) healing...Thank you for this one.

Wonderful distraction!!
Love your writing, and I too find a calm in watching the birds in my backyard
So happy that you had this encounter, Dan.
Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am to have my brother and sister. It’s easy to take for granted, until they’re gone.
Love this!
Loved everything about this.
What a wonderful sensation to keep as the whole body of our land gets walloped by the felon in chief.
Thank you, simple joys are needed so much right now. Little slices of nature to remind me a power greater than myself is here. 🐦⬛
Birdwatching in our city backyard always calmed us and we all need the gentleness of birds to restore us. Thanks for reminding us, Dan.

Share JOY, not sorrow. It's the best part of life.
Love it so much I haven't ears on my eyes. Thanks.
So nice to read about bird feeding instead of the our country’s mess.
Thanks a Dan
