Until Trump, I always considered President Reagan as the worst and most dangerous president in my lifetime. Far worse than Nixon which is saying something. But Trump has taken everything to an unimaginable level of danger. As for public service, I retired this summer after 57 years working for Baltimore City and the State of Maryland and am so grateful to have begun working when public service was respected. I don't know if young people will have such an opportunity but Governor Moore's initiative in Maryland and now nationally provides some hope if his message can break through the right-wing oligarch controlled communication landscape.

I'm at a complete loss to understand what kind of country people like Trump, Vought, Musk and other like minded people actually want. They don't care about the poor or the middle class. They don't care if our infrastructure fails completely unless there is a buck to be made. Education, health care, clean air and water; who needs it but the wealthy who can afford to pay for it. A safety net for people via Social Security and Medicare; no way, let the poor and sick fend for themselves and deplete the surplus population. National Parks, again, why bother when there is money to be made from the resources there. They don't value public service of any kind, apparently. They seem to want a white country, with the elites ruling the country and women at home obeying their men. Is that it?
