With blue-wave election, Truth appears to be making a comeback
Maybe it’s become clear to more citizens that the greatest con job in American history needs to end.
Considering the election results of the past week, Lincoln comes to mind: “You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”
Nov. 4, 2025 was a big day for Democrats, from sea to shining sea.
But you could also declare it a victory for truth.
Truth might be making a comeback.
Maybe some of the people who allowed themselves to be fooled again last year are finally seeing Trumpism for what it is — not just an authoritarian lean, but government in the hands of government-haters, crackpots and grifters.
Maybe it’s become clear to more citizens that the greatest con job in American history needs to end.
We know what we know — about the price of chicken and coffee, about Trump’s immigrant terror campaign (there are countless ICE videos shared every day in social media), and about what he did to the White House.
Those are three of the most obvious things.
We know that food prices have not come down, as Trump repeatedly claims, that ICE goons are arresting and sometimes brutalizing immigrants who’ve done nothing wrong — as opposed to the violent offenders Trump said he’d deport — and that tearing down the East Wing for a ballroom was/is appalling.
I’m not including the hardcore MAGA, of course. They’re still living in our 51st state, Denial, regarding Trump’s lies and failings.
I’m talking about independent voters and the many 2024 non-voters who are waking up to the Trump travesty.
I hear pundits knocking Democrats for their lack of powerful messaging against Trump.
But people are obviously paying attention, and what they see is a president who is his own worst enemy — insisting on tariffs that are taxes Americans will have to pay; pushing cuts to Medicaid that will harm millions, including beneficiaries in red states; holding stubbornly to funds for the SNAP program, stressing low-income families; abiding the draconian cuts to the federal workforce that anyone with common sense sees as stupidly detrimental to both the economy and public service; blocking the government’s official jobs report, highlighting the regime’s total war on truth.
And more Americans are seeing Republican politicians for what they are — servants of the plutocracy who refuse to recognize that, while they might not call it socialism, their constituents like Social Security, Obamacare and SNAP.
Working off the Project 2025 agenda, the Trump regime moved quickly to inflict a whole lot of damage on the government, on science, on foreign aid and on some of our most prestigious institutions.
Only the most devoted followers of Steve Bannon, an avowed anarchist, believe the country needs the whirlwind of chaos, incompetence and cruelty that the Trump regime hath wrought and Republicans have abided.
I have to keep reminding my friends, the doomsdayers, that Kamala Harris received 75 million votes in the presidential election one year ago this month. Of course, Trump got a couple million more, but 75 million ain’t nothin.’
If you consider that, along with Tuesday’s blue-wave results and Trump’s dismal poll ratings, then you can savor the possibility that more Americans are seeing what millions of us have seen all along, and a good thing, too.

That's a great line regarding hardcore MAGA living in the 51st state of Denial. The latest numbers on job cuts may force some of those people out of that state.
