A direct line from Stephen Miller to Portland Avenue in Minneapolis
Miller, the Trump Whisperer, has been allowed to create something Americans despise — a police state.
We will need neither historians nor the perspective of time to determine the most sinister player in the Trump regime. Stephen Miller has won that title at age 40. He is executive producer and director of the nightmare-in-progress that reached a new level of horror on Wednesday morning in Minneapolis with the unjustified killing of an American citizen by one of the ICE agents taking part in Miller’s immigrant purge.
There’s a direct line from Miller, Trump’s homeland security adviser, to the outrageous killing of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good on Portland Avenue.
The architect of the brutal purge, Miller is a white-hot racist who wants to deport as many brown and Black people as possible in the time available. He wants to empty the great American melting pot and kick it aside. Trump likes that about him. And so the entire apparatus of immigrant control and apprehension has been expanded and empowered to respond to what Miller falsely declared a national emergency. Masked agents of ICE and the Border Patrol have been allowed to operate with impunity in city and suburban streets.
And so Miller has been allowed to create something Americans despise — a police state.
This one man, with perverse views of what American society should look like, has been given broad powers, far beyond what any such person should have.
In normal times, other presidents would have kept their distance from a meddling, officious Miller, maybe even referred him to a therapist.
Not Trump.
Miller is the Trump Whisperer, filling the president’s empty head with all sorts of fiendish, cruel and chauvinistic ideas for executive action, each of them certain to feed the wholly performative aspects of this unfortunate presidency and keep Trump’s name in the news.
Miller, with a highly developed world view, has exerted his influence on Trump in foreign affairs. Given his recent statements on Venezuela and Greenland, suggesting that the U.S. could use military force to loot other countries, Miller is set up to deliver the coup de grâce to the nation’s wounded reputation.
All of this in the perverse cause of re-establishing a white, Christian-dominant society, this time under an authoritarian regime feared both internationally and by its own citizens.
That is what we are facing.
That is where we are.
If I am wrong, the historians will one day correct me.
But, based on the reporting available from all sources, including Miller’s own words, sometimes delivered in abnormally pressured speech, he is clearly calling the shots of this sick presidency. And the results now include the death of Renee Nicole Good near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue, Minneapolis.

My heart is breaking, and I am sure there are many others also feeling this pain. I need to believe there are many, many, like souls out there. We need to use our vote to stop this madness. Not only is this administration hurting out country but also disrupting our world order. I have had an English pen pal since 1957, (yes, I did say "pen pal") who also follows politics closely. To hear how our allies are monitoring our situation and their fears is also scary. We must all work to have a free and honest mid-term election!
You aren’t wrong!
Miller is evil and Trump is a puppet for all the evil!
